TOPIC 6: Instructional Design

WELCOME BACK!

A traditional classroom setting where the teacher is standing in front of classroom lecturing to students as they take notes or just listen is BORING! If you want your students to be interested in what you are teaching, you must interact with them. Get the students involved in everything that you are teaching.

Technology is what students wake up to every day. If the teachers want to make the class the most interesting class that everyone excited to go to, then they must incorporate some kind of technology. Instead of lecturing and having students take notes, the teachers may use instructional design as a medium to teach.

But what is Instructional Design? In short, instructional design is the systematic process by which instructional materials are designed, developed and delivered. The teacher has to identify who are the learners, what are the delivery options and what are the learning theories should be applied, this discovery is called a needs analysis.

I think in today's world, instructional design is the best way to encourage the participation of learners. The design of the program uses a combination of various methodologies materials that would optimize the learning experience based on the assessment of what learners' needs. It also simplifies learning for the learners as it identifies the easiest and most effective ways for learners to get information and understand the content. In addition, instructional design is guided by the learning goals which become the focus of the training. The teachers can modify their approach by analyzing the understanding and the result of their students.

Till next time. See ya! 😉
